The world's biggest banks now run AI across their organisations

Banks are not early adopters. They are the industry of triple sign-offs, compliance departments bigger than most companies, and regulators who can end careers with a letter. When banks move on a technology, it isn't a trend any more — it's infrastructure.

So it's worth pausing on a quiet announcement from Anthropic's Claude channel: some of the world's largest banks are now running Claude across their organisations — and the leaders behind that work presented what they've built at an event called The Briefing: Financial Services.

Why this one matters more than the flashy demos

AI playing games or generating videos makes better viewing. But a bank deploying AI means something much more boring and much more important: the technology passed security review, compliance review, data-protection review and risk review — the four horsemen that kill most software projects in regulated industries.

For every business owner who's been told (or told themselves) "AI isn't safe enough for customer data yet", this is the recalibration point. The most audited industry on earth looked at the risks, engineered around them, and shipped.

The catch: they didn't just switch it on

Banks didn't paste customer accounts into a free chatbot. They deployed AI with controls: defined data boundaries, audit trails, human sign-off on consequential actions. The lesson isn't "AI is safe" — it's that AI is safe the way anything is safe: by design.

Scaled to a small business, the same design principles look like this:

That's not enterprise luxury — it's exactly how we build lead pipelines for catering companies and tutoring businesses. GDPR-by-design isn't a badge on our website because it sounds nice; it's the same discipline the banks used, at a scale you can afford.

If you've held off automating because of data worries, that instinct is healthy — the answer is doing it properly, not not doing it. Book a free Lead Leak Audit and ask us the hard security questions; the founder has an MSc in exactly this.
